For families with children, a visit to the Maritime Museum with the sailing ship Pommern is an appreciated feature, or to Lilla Holmen - with a child-friendly sandy beach and a fun climbing ship for the children. Sports groups are close to sports facilities, an ice rink, a football pitch and an athletics pitch. The Mariehamn city bus stops about 200 m from Solhem.
In addition to sunbathing & swimming, rowing or enjoying nature in the area, there is much else you can do nearby such as
- Rent a kayak from Paddelboden which is within walking distance from the guest house.
- Nåtö nature trail - 2 km. . Nåtö is a nature reserve that offers lush flower meadows, pastures, beaches, a beautiful farm environment and cool, lush hazel groves.
- Espholm's bathing beach with barbecue facilities which is close to the riding school Sleipner and is located about 2 km from the guest house.
- Järsö nature trail is located about 10 km from the guest house to the south. If you cycle out there, there are opportunities to take a break at Nåtö kiosk which is halfway to buy an ice cream / soft drink or take a "gofika" when you get out to Järsö at "Lottas Stickstuga" which has a café, farm shop and greenhouse.
