Skogsrundan 4 km – seaviews and marshland

The trail passes the wooden church of Sottunga, built in 1730. It replaced a chapel that had previously been destroyed a fire. The building has an unusually high gable, and in the early 1800s the church elongated by a little over four metres.

After the church, the path leads into a pine tree forest and continues along the seaside rocks on the western side of the island with fine views of the archipelago to the west. On the rocks there is also a picnic spot with a table. In the crevices you can see low growing archipelago vegetation, for example juniper and heather.

After the seaside rocks the path rounds a marshland where you can see knotty old pine trees and typical marshland plants such as common cottongrass. The village road takes you back to the visitors’ marina.

Enjoy nature! Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footsteps.
