Saltvik church in Kvarnbo gives a confusing impression with traces of many alterations. Viking age settlement has been documented around and under the church. The quatrefoil font in Gotland limestone from the middle of the 13th century is most impressive. The triumphal crucifix is equally old. The big panel painting on the northern wall of the tower, depicting Saint George and the Dragon, was modeled on the famous sculpture in the Great church of Stockholm. It was painted by Mårten Johansson in 1659.
