Booking terms travel packages and accommodation

Fees
The service fee is 10€ on booking of accommodations and package holidays (bicycle package 20€). Optional cancellation insurance can be purchased at the time of the booking, 20€ per booking. The amendment fee is 10€ per amendment.

Booking/payment
The booking is binding as soon as we have confirmed the booking and you have paid the registration fee or the rent. Your booking will be canceled if you do not pay within the time limit.

Cancellation terms
Cancellation must be made either in writing or orally as follows:
– 7 days prior to arrival or earlier a fee of 20 € will be charged.
– later than 7 days prior to arrival the renter will be charged the entire rental amount.
No show, if you have not utilized your booking and have not canceled, you will be charged the full rental amount.

Cancellation insurance
You can protect yourself against cancellation costs if you purchase a voluntary cancellation insurance that gives you the right to cancel the rented property up to and including the day prior to arrival for the following reasons:
a) death, illness or accident of a serious nature, which affects yourself, spouse, cohabitant, family member or traveling companion.
b) drafted into the armed forces or the civil defense.
c) the occurrence of other serious incident beyond your control that you could not foresee when you booked and which means that it is not reasonable to ask that you honor your booking, such as fire or flooding in your home.
You must be able to provide proof of the incident with a certificate from, for example, a doctor, an authority or an insurance company, and the certificate should be sent to us as soon as possible. The fee for the cancellation insurance will not be refunded in case of cancellation.

Complaints
Any complaints should be raised directly with the accommodation facility as soon as a possible defect is discovered. If the defect is not rectified immediately then Ålandsresor should be informed immediately. Claims for compensation are to be made to Ålandsresor within 21 days after the end of the rental period and should be put in writing. If the customer and the accommodation facility/intermediary are not in agreement, the customer may refer the dispute to the Consumer Complaint Board in Finland.

Force majeure
Due to force majeure (disaster, strike, water damage, fire, extreme weather conditions or the like) Ålandsresor may revoke the booking, whereby the customer shall immediately be notified and fees paid will be refunded without any deduction. No additional compensation will be paid.

Booking terms for groups

What is a group?
A group consists of at least 10 people.

Fees
The service fee is 100€ per group. The amendment fee is 20€ per amendment after we have received the name list.

Booking
The booking is binding as soon as we have confirmed and you have paid the registration fee or the rent. Your booking will be canceled if you do not pay within the time limit.

Name list
The name list shall be delivered to us no later than 14 days before departure. Name lists delivered to us later than 14 days before departure, are not guaranteed free cancellation if the number of participants decreases. Name lists delivered to us later than 14 days before departure are regarded as amendments. Any possible menu selection and allergies shall be submitted in the name list.

Cancellation terms
A 30 days prior to arrival, free cancellation of the entire group unless otherwise agreed.
B 29-14 days prior, free cancellation for 50% of the group. (If the whole group is cancelled, 50% of the entire amount will be charged). Does not apply for cottages.
C 13-1 days prior, free cancellation for 5% of the group. (If the whole group is cancelled, 95% of the entire amount will be charged). Does not apply for cottages.
D Cancellation later than 24 hours prior to arrival the renter will be charged the entire rental amount, except from when the traveler is affected by acute illness or the death of a member of their household. The above shall be supported by a medical certificate.
No show = you will be charged the full amount.

Booking terms for cottages

Travel
We will be happy to book your trip to Åland in connection with the cottage booking.

Fees/payment

The service fee is 20€ in connection to the booking of vacation cottages. Optional cancellation insurance can be purchased at the time of the booking, 20€ per booking. The amendment fee is 10€ per amendment. Your booking will be canceled if you do not pay within the time limit.

Booking and payment
The booking is binding when the registration fee has been paid – no later than the specified payment date two weeks after the time of the booking. The registration fee is 20% of the total price and no less than 70€. The remaining balance shall be paid no later than 40 days prior to the date of access. If the booking is made 40 days or later prior to the date of access, the entire amount shall be paid at the time of the booking. We reserve the right to cancel your booking in case of default in payment. In addition to the cottage rent, we will charge a service fee of 20€ per booking. Always use your booking reference number in any correspondence with us.

Cancellation terms
Note that you must cancel your booking orally or in writing. If the cancellation is made before the registration fee is paid (two weeks after the time of the booking), the cancellation is free of charge. If the cancellation is made after the registrations fee is paid, but earlier than 40 days before date of access, Ålandsresor retains 50€ as a cancellations fee. If the cancellation is made later than 40 days before date of access, the entire rental amount will be charged. Payments can be reimbursed if the cottage can be re-let but you still have to pay the service fee (20€). Cancellation due to acute illness close to the date of access is possible if supported by an original medical certificate, in this case we keep the service fee of 20€.

Price amendments
If there are changes in taxes and general fees or anything that directly affects the rental industry after the rental agreement becomes binding to the parties, prior to the date of access, the intermediary has the right to carry out the corresponding adjustments of the rental amount.

The intermediary’s responsibility
We are responsible only for the administration of the rental agreement between the renter and the cottage owner, who is responsible for ensuring that the information submitted is correct. We undertake to, in the event of any contractual dispute, mediate contact between the parties, and be responsible for the administration of the matter. The intermediary can not be held responsible for breach of contract from the cottage owner’s side, and reserves the right to assign the customer an equivalent accommodation, or refund any rental payment. No additional compensation will be paid to the renter.

Amendment of rental object
The intermediary may, due to an event that is outside the intermediary’s control, with the renter’s approval, amend the rental object to a cottage of an equivalent type, value and location.

Rental period
The rental period is recorded in your rental documents. The rental period normally begins on the arrival day at 3.00 pm at the earliest and ends on the departure day no later than 12.00 pm. Verify your own rental cottage times. This means that: if you would like to come earlier, or leave the cottage at a later time, you must book and pay for one more day. Note! It is the responsibility of renter to, in good time prior to arrival, notify the cottage landlord of their arrival time to the cottage.

Who is a renter
The number of people (children included) must not exceed the number in the catalog and the rental documents without the landlord’s permission. Pets such as dogs, cats, etc. are not allowed everywhere. Do not forget that a veterinary certification is required by customs. Consult a veterinarian in good time prior to departure (about 5-6 months for travel to Sweden).

The renter’s liability
The renter undertakes to comply with the order regulations, instructions and rules that apply to rental object. The renter undertakes to pay any damages to the property, its environment or equipment. Note! Camping next to the cottages is not permitted. Smoking is prohibited in all cottages.

Cleaning
The renter is responsible for cleaning during and at departure. The property owner reserves the right to levy an additional charge for any extra cleaning required after the renter’s occupancy. It is possible to order final cleaning to certain cottages for a fee.
